Sheriff's manor - Culture Tour After-Party

For those Northern Haunts that either remain unspecified or too specific to fit into any other category. For example, if you wish to post a one-shot on your character's activities in their Haven but don't wish to advertise the fact of it's existence in a specific district.

When Valentina stands up to leave Keane looks up morosely. He turns and see's price with the crossbow. Then notices Durham sat just by. He starts to judge his options at which point Price price let's out his battlecry. Without thinking he dives to the floor with his hands over his head. When the screaming comes to a stop he dares too lift his head. Just in time for the crossbow bolt to whistle past his face.
He tumbles backwards panting, making little strangles *kik kik* noises.

Durham looks first at the crossbow, then at the apple, then at the bolt in his leg. He then bursts out in slightly manic laughter.

"You missed." He drags in breath only to continue chuckling.

"Had... had... had you been..." He doubles over.

"Another two inches," *sneark*, "to my right and I might" *gasps*, "might", *gasps* "might have had some some reasons for performance anxiety later at... on."

He only partially falls out of the chair, all of him toppling but the leg pinned to the chair leg which just doesn't move.

"Now why..." *snicker* "doesn't this hurt?" He seems bizarrely disappointed.

Dukes watches, slightly startled as Aurelia marches off, more distracted by that than the bow charge playing out nearby. He blinks and rubs the bridge of his nose, realising he isn't wearing his glasses.
he mutters, a grumble in his voice. He stands up, pondering saying something to placate the elder, and shrugs.
Grabbing the sofa, he lifts one end and drags it clear across the room towards the alcove Aurelia and Audley are now standing in.
skree.... skreeee... SKREEEEEEE..... it goes, scraping across the floor, halting the current discussion with the disquieting sound. He pulls it up in front of the two kindred.
"Elder, that was crass of me, don't stand up on my account. Please..." he gestures at the sofa, "it really is the best seat in the room, I know from authority, and its yours if you want it."
He resumes his seat, arm resting across the back of the chair, appearing calm save for the tap of an index finger.

Jerome looks at the bolt and then at Durham, "Oops" then looks up arms wide throwing the crossbow to the floor and gesturing at the bolt with the apple on impaled in the neonate's leg.

"So, in or out? Hit the target, bout twenty paces."

Andross looks at it with sheer confusion as to whether that was in fact intended and the effects of what had been taken were in fact exaggerated.

"Elder Dukes, as host of the party and an elder with duties of this cities Sheriff, could you perhaps make the final statement as to whether the challenge was passed or failed?"

Aurelia slants an exhausted look to Valentina; she is coming out of her happier high.

"Do you get this trouble across the board with men? I sometimes find them worse than women. Or were yours simple creatures, with simple needs? Do you go for the complex men with all the baggage that comes with it, or do you like easy coasts? Or a mix."

Aurelia perks up. "What do you like, Envoy? Bad boys? Angels? Do you have a type? The broken bunnies to be fixed? Come, I'm too tired to have it in anything but plain language."

As the sofa screeches across the floor, though, Aurelia stops and blinks, slides her gaze slowly to Dukes; she swings her legs up automatically to clear the back of the sofa.

"Neh?"

A second blink, owlish with surprise. "Oh.... Miss Audley, we have a chair." Something tender enters her expression.

Aurelia lifts off from the alcove and slides down onto the sofa, surprise and gratitude colouring her aura. "Thank you," she looks at Dukes, trying to make her expression blank.

Valentina is trying to look disapprovingly at Jerome but failing because she's giggling.

"The target says you missed Elder.." she can't carry on, overcome by giggles for a moment.

When she's calmed down, Aurelia is speaking to her. Valentina grins cheerfully at her.

"It's never been a secret Elder. I like bad boys and clever women" She pauses thoughtfully. "And a range in between I suppose... but mainly bad boys."

After Dukes outburst Valentina murmurs "No Elder, I believe you have a chair." She doesn't seem perturbed in the slightest, but also makes no move to leave the alcove.

Hermina looks up at Jean-Jacques, “Has the game stopped? Did I win? It is a shame I was having so much fun. I suppose dreams have strange twists in them like this.”
