Elysium After Party The Second

Helen returns the playful smile and starts playing with a curl.

“Right…right…Emerald Spice. Interesting name. I would love to have the recipe... You are really kind Valmont. Your parties are legendary. This is the second time I attend and I hope I will be welcomed in the future too.”

She turns to look at Lord Durham. The Emerald Spice flowing through her bloodstream and she feels hyper and full of adrenaline. Like she can conquer the world or something. The desire to throw all the glasses on the floor and start dancing was boiling in her blood but she was trying to hold it together.

“So I suggest this one, Emerald Spice, it’s mild and preferable after all this opium we had. Oh dear, hopefully you are not suffering any consequences. The first time I had any kind of drug was in the trip to Egypt, lovely trip with lovely company. I came back to Aquae Sulis three weeks ago and since then I am discovering the world. Such a lovely thing being a neonate isn’t? Everything is new, everything is exciting. Joy! So much Joy!”

She chuckles a little bit.

“So tell me Valmont, are you working on any art piece right now?”

Reggie enjoyed watching the younger kindred conversing. Such delightful creatures just beginning to understand the portential they had. It reminded him of a time long ago when he wasn’t as jaded as now, when his mind was filled with little more than what outfit to wear, which debutante to romance, or what new ways he could debase himself.

Peaking over the back of the sofa, “I apologise for the interruption but I overheard discussion of substances and pleasurement. It may interest you to know Helen that I am extremely hopeful that I may be able to meet up with Scyla shortly. If so I do not doubt that she will have a package of ‘soma’ to share.”

And the with a playful wink in the Tremere’s direction “And a good evening to you too Durham. We are so delighted that Mrs Jackdaw has allowed you to join us tonight.”

As the conversation ebbs and flows around them Valentina leads Francis to another neaby sofa and settles in next to him, the plush red upholstery a striking contrast to her navy dress.

She snuggles close to Francis, her head on his shoulder, laughing occasionally at his murmured commentary, pitched too low for anyone else to here.

Scanning the room, he could see that all appeared to be well and everyone was enjoying themselves. His mood mightily lifted by the facilities that Valmonts provided and his attentive staff, he felt serenity returning with every passing moment.

“Francis, I am so glad you have been able to join us. I trust you are being well consoled by Valentina. And my dear, it is a pleasure to see you looking as radiant as always. I am exceedingly grateful for your kind attentions in looking after my childe earlier in the evening.”

"Thank you, my parties are legendary I suppose." He says leaning back into the sofa and taking a final gulp of his drink.
"O I am always working on art. Bits here and there, what ever I fansy. Many of my creations are scattered around. But i am working on a new painting in particular that requires several sittings."

[Francis Beauclair]

Gabriel places his arm around Valentina pulling he close. He waves a glass happily at Lady Leverson as she enters. Come my Lady drink some of Reginalds marvellous concoctions they are quite the cure for this dark and troubled world we live in. He rises to his feet for a moment untangling from Valentina, momentarily serious. He holds out his hand as if to shake hers. "Well done my Lady you fought with grace and skill as a falling star to a rising one I offer you joy of your victory".

As Gwen enters the room her light hearted chatter halts, she instantly notices Beauclair, in a moment a steely look passes over her face as he rises to his feet.

His hand is outstretched and his words although unexpected, seam sincere.

She takes his hand and shakes it in a formal way.

'I know that one day you will sit on a throne again, a day when your an Elder and your fife with thrive under your command. I wanted to return to you what is yours as I no longer can serve you in the way I did, tomorrow I will have it brought to your office, I thank you for entrusting me with it, it was an honour' she offers a low curtsy.

Francis smiles

Nonsense my lady it was and is a gift, freely given and I hope you will keep it as token of the high esteem I hold you in. but come I am frightfully rude let us drink to our host's health and be merry.

He raises a glass to Valmont, Then to Verity, Lady Leverson and all the rest before finally toasting Valanina and downing it to the dregs before collapsing back to the sofa struggling to control a sudden wave of drug fueled giggles.

Valentina's eyes glitter wickedly for a moment as she draws Francis into her embrace.

She smiles across to Reggie "my pleasure darling. It's delightful to get to know her better!" Valentina's smile in this instamce is sweetly angelic, it's the look Reggie at least will recognise as not being entirely clandestine about her true thoughts. But there's time enough to quiz him another night.

Deciding that, as they are all on the third floor and she's in such company as will not be immediately horrified, Valentina shifts slightly on the sofa causing two things to happen. One, her skirts ride up to expose a stockinged ankle and two, her mouth is close enough to Francis' face to pepper him with butterfly kisses should she so choose.

She grins down at him before leaning down and delicately kissing the tip of his nose.

"Care to share the joke darling?"

"Soma...." the face of the Ventrue looks thoughtful but she continues "If you are so generous to share Reggie...it will be interesting to try it this time. We can talk about it certainly." She was tempted but there was a voice of logic at the back of her head saying that her sanity is hanging on by a little fragile thread and the experience of a substance like soma might be the cherry on top.

She then directs her attention to Valmont and asks with glowing eyes.
"Several settings? I am curious, what kind of a painting?"

Her curiosity is disturbed for a minute by Valentina and Francis. Helen tilts her head to the side and observes the 'exchange' with appreciation, not caring if she is prying or not. They are, after all, not alone so if she wants to look she will look.

That woman has her priorities straight.

The Neonate Ventrue takes a mental note to perhaps ask Valentina for tips and tricks in the future. A minor boon might do? Perhaps...too scandalous to ask?...perhaps....oh well...Desperate times call for desperate measures.
