The Fifth Council of Neonates

For those Northern Haunts that either remain unspecified or too specific to fit into any other category. For example, if you wish to post a one-shot on your character's activities in their Haven but don't wish to advertise the fact of it's existence in a specific district.

Violet smiles bitterly at Dorians words “Newly Released” but for once doesn’t say anything. It had been long enough since anyone here had mentioned that she wasn’t yet released so she surely wasn’t going to bring it up.

Perhaps wanting to give the Malkavians more privacy to recover, or perhaps just too intrigued by what Dorian is saying, Violet quickly packs away her notes into her bag and moves to follow Kira into the laboratory.

Eponine Stands up with a graceful posture and almost glides over to the sofa, she reaches out her hand to receive Miss Daye's hoping with all her heart that she will take it. "I am glad to see you are feeling better, there is no need to fret we all have our moments, you take your time, I shall be in the next room with the others as I can see you are in fantastic hands here with Dr Taylor"

With that she moves towards the door and makes eye contact with Dorian "Indeed I have been made Deputy Sheriff, it was quite a surprise to me. I was due to be Sheriff Jackdaws Deputy once before under Arcadius Augustus however he never had a chance to formally announce it before Lady Levason took over and changed things around. Miss Flaubert's serum?" she askes inquisitively "I am intrigued, pray do tell me more"

With that Eponine and Dorian walk together into the laboratory allowing the Malkavians to recover and join everyone when they are ready.

"My Sire - God rest her soul - bade me work alongside the delightful Miss Flaubert. A nurse, you know of her? She's the Malkavian Whip, wears a medical pinafore or... a corset, when confusion strikes. Fortunately, she's a ready mind beyond that - when Constance is pointed at something, you won't stop her short of killing her - and she works alarmingly fast. I found my Beast startlingly silent during those weeks, and my clarity of mind higher than usual even on low blood. I hadn't much chance to feed consistently," he explains, moving through the wells of shadow and gaslamp.

"The Primogen Council asked of us to create a drug that would mimic or derive from the opioid poppy, to the matter of affecting Kindred vitae more potently than human blood. Perhaps bind differently, or have a delayed effect. They wished a means of... drugging the Sabbat, to better harm their abilities for higher thought and reasoning, to complicate feeding and stagnate or prevent shock Embraces. Darrieux offered Opium as a candidate, she being familiar with it, and also the samples themselves."

"The serum was meant to be distributed in a water-soluble form, so as to poison the Gloucester city tank. Thus we began to refine varieties of opium in a manner that would lock onto vampires or lay more dormant in a human until a feeding event. Of course, we learned very fast that opioids simply do not last long enough in the blood to any degree that would significantly impact a vampire upon feeding."

"The great advantage with purified opium is that a subject can be treated with a known dose - whereas with raw plant material, as Gabriel Fallopius once lamented, if soporifics are weak they do not help; if they are strong they are exceedingly dangerous. We didn't want to kill the humans in the Sabbat-infected zone. But, with opium at a lost cause for effect, we started looking elsewhere. Time constraints, tiringly."

"Compared to Constance I was more capable with safely exploring explosive agents - oh, by the by, never give Malkavians explosive agents, ever - and even my synthesised mid-steps were violent to the extreme. I was delayed by having to recreate what novel apparatus I used during. Together, we discovered that there are plenty ways to be delayed, the least seemingly, physical harm during trials. I was able to judge the pressure of the chemicals comparatively in regard to the condensers and glass."

"Within a few weeks we had to concede a major problem: that many of these alkaloids do not stay long in the blood."

With time the hues began to resemble their more natural colour. Greys and greens came back to Eric's eyes as the shock of the whole thing subsided.

It was exhilarating.

Not the kind of excitment that mortals got, adrenaline had long since dried up, this was a reaction meant only for Kindred. The Dark Being clawing it's way inside of oneself, bringing every sense to a new life. That pain was something new, unlike what had been felt before. In the corner of Eric's senses he had noticed the other two of his clan experience something themselves.

Eric did not breath, but he did, and quite rapidly. The reverberations still wracked through him like ripples after a large stone hits the water. It took force to make his limbs move to stand again, wide eyed and grinning. "Brother, Sister, be ye well?" to the last two within the room. "Ye felt it too?" he sounds a little too excited by it, rather than the more natural responce of fear, "Maybe somethin' t'speak of later?"

Taylor's eyes are cold as flint when he glances to Eric

"Later. Back at The House."

His eyes thaw and warmth returns to them as he returns his gaze to Christine, he looks worried for a moment when she looks wobbly.

"Yes my l-. Yes Ms Daye. Nothing is ruined, have no fear of that. However we should likely join the others in the other room.."

Taking her hand gently in his, Taylor pulls Christine to her feet and for a moment he holds her close before stepping back to a more appropriate distance. Taking her arm he stats to guide her gently towards the doorway into the lab.

Christine had stared for a moment at Eponine's proffered hand, as if unsure what to do with it. Then, manners kicked in, and she gracefully took it in her gloved hand, fingertips touching lightly.

"Yes... later..." she says to Eric, and shivers, her eyes dark.

There's something in her eyes, her manner, that seems just that little bit wrong, there is a lightness in her step that one would not expect from one who has just awoken from a dead faint with a headache.

She hums contentedly to herself as Taylor guides her into the lab, smiling at him, dreamy and fae.

Eric waits until the others have started making their way towards the lab. This muslces still required a bit of persuading to do as he says though in truth he wanted a moment to bathe in the wonder of it all. A deep joyfilled breath, "What a wonderful night indeed," before following them down.

'This truly is fascinating! Is that the reason we are communing in your lab this day?'

... Well.

One corrects customs by laughing at them, he supposes.

"Yes," the inventor murmurs low, his head to one side, glittering onyx eyes and a mouth that wanted to smile. "Astute guess."

He offers Eponine his hand, leather-gloved but open in its intent, palm up.

"Look: see."

If she were to offer her hand Dorian would lead her to the door at the back, and lay his hand instead over hers against the cool of the frame. She can see it now: it is a metal door, and very thick. If she were to hesitate prior to this, Dorian would simply drop his own hand and reach the door by himself. He says the next partly to Eponine, partly to the others as they gather.

"The mechanics are a little unusual, but it serves privacy within the room. You hear the sounds in the wall? We won't be disturbed as long as we all slip in one after the other - relatively close - for the purpose of ejecting what stray Obfuscators there may be, as was the case on that night when Miss Vex occupied the space outside the door. Pesky thing, Elder curiosity. They'll go all sorts of unusual lengths, throw any number of pawns in the way, to have information. And in regard to this serum's structure... A good many want that information."

"So: the room, for necessity. We can share freely within. Taylor and I developed a few security standards that we'll adhere to, but they're relatively obvious and we'll all labour under them. Anyone can leave when they wish, we'll simply reopen the door, but we'll need to keep eyes on it with Auspex."

With a slight smile Eponine takes his hand, overjoyed at the acceptance this displays as well as the formal etiquette that she has rarely seen during her time in Bath.

"I can assist well with the Auspex as needed. If I can be of any other assistance that I fail to observe myself do endeavour to inform me"

Her eyes widen from pure curiosity as Dorians hand is placed on a thick metal door. She was so worried about what the evening would offer, and spent many an hour in deep debate regarding her attendance with her Primogen, but despite a rocky almost terrifying start the evening has turned out to be thoroughly intriguing and is pleasantly surprised at the displays of acceptance she has received. The smile on her face widens and her face relaxes, is it possible that these acquaintances could also be caused friends?

It is at this thought she notices the absence of Katherine. "Forgive the change of subject but where is Mrs Saunders tonight?"
