Trying to Get Home

A half-way house for the weary Kindred, this old tavern is set back off the road in its own grounds, in the heart of the countryside. Nominally still in Reading's catchment area, and thus sanctuary, this beautiful ivy-climbed cottage is Kindred-friendly (and Kindred approved!). It is a sprawling barn conversion with twenty light-tight quaint rooms, two wings and a central lounge area overlooked by the balcony of the story above. There are small parlours and a library. Outside, a split carriage path winds around a wishing well, leading to the stables and the apple orchid at the back. Beyond the orchid, is a dark forest. No one knows how the cottage stays clean.

Aldrich remains in his position as if nothing has changed. He smiles at the toast and casts his eye downwards for a moment before also pulling his hip flask and taking a large gulp of the contents.

Andross give a polite nod of agreement with the toast, but adds nothing more to it.

"With the congratulatory toast done, and fears or concerns hopefully now abated, perhaps we could turn to something more of a social discussion. Make amends for the friendly chatter that was perhaps interrupted by other events last night?"

He looks about to see if there are any offers to start a subject of gossip.

Valentina smiles at Andross and casts her mind for a different topic to bring to the room. One that didn't mean talking about Vortigern or Others...

"Did you know, bearing the Cup means you know who paired off with who?" She gives a light laugh. "Can you imagine my surprise when I suddenly gained knowledge of all those pairings? I must admit Calico Jack's partner surprised me. I feel I may have been misjudging him..."

"Ah yes, from what i recall there had been some assistance beforehand to encourage them to ask Calico, however Calico was quite the gentleman at accepting, before then lifting them against a door to provide quite the passionate kiss..."

Aldrich smiles

"Oh go on then I'll be the one to ask." He begins "pray tell who was Mr Jack's partner?"

Keane smiles at Valentina when she sits next to him. He doesn't seem to notice her pushing a towel between them and instead sets about clearing one of his sleeves of water over the arm of the couch and doesn't bother to take part in the toast. He looks at Jean-Jacques as he talks.
"If you are still having, um, difficulties. As I said before, I would offer the services of my Clan if you wish it."
He looks at Aldritch when he asks his question.
"I would have thought a more interesting question would be if there was anything else granted by the Coire to it's bearer?"
He turns and looks to Valentina;
"I think you were quite lucky to have been chosen for such a task. It is a rather unique title to have claimed."

Andross gives a coy smile to Aldrich after the admitted interest.

"I'm afraid my memory for the names of neonates is not as good as i wish it were, especially with there being quite so many of them flitting about these days. Though perhaps if i offer the description of a Top hat and very fine black suit, someone may be able to offer a name for Ancillae Audley to confirm? I of course also would not want to spoil the answer to a topic she had proposed."
