The Night After The Party We Don't Talk About

For those Northern Haunts that either remain unspecified or too specific to fit into any other category. For example, if you wish to post a one-shot on your character's activities in their Haven but don't wish to advertise the fact of it's existence in a specific district.

Keane is taken aback by the sudden intensity and interest. Though there are motes of what could be described as a smug satisfaction abroad in his aura.
"I.. I did not think it so important. These things are- were part of common knowledge. I suppose if then you would like, I will share it with you. Perhaps in return for that trivial boon I just gave you Elder."
He smiles just a little at Aurelia, warmly though. It is not mocking or vindictive.

Niketas keeps eyes locked on Keane, unblinking. He rubs his head. Slowly, he smiles.

"YES absolutely, it's done - paid off - hurry up."

Aurelia stifles the desperate noise in her throat; it was half impatience, half eagerness, but all urgent need.

"Ahem - please, Elder Keane. Go on."

Keane nods to Jean-Jacques and then to Aurelia.
"Thankyou, I will accept both, I hope what I have to say proves worth the cost."
He reclines in his chair and takes a moment to clear his thoughts.
"As many of you know I am quite old, and came first from the Brythonic Isles. I left shortly after the cup made its way into the hands of Mithras. What it does Elder Aurelia has already described. But what it is, is more of a story. Well a story of a story really."
He shakes his head and tries to stay on track.
"The Tuatha De Danann were the gods of our people at the time, brought from Ireland. The Dagda was one of these. The Great God in a more modern tongue. He was a powerful giver and taker of life. In one hand he held a shillelegh, a club, of enormous power. In the other he held a Coire, or Cauldron. It is said that no man would leave thirsty and that it was capable of granting fertility to the barren, life to the wasted and strength to the weak. It's ladle was so large that two men could fit astride it.... But this is all a little exaggeration. It is true that such an item existed and was brought from Ireland to early England by the cult of Dagda and that it was taken from them. It is also true that it was an item of great power, capable of the things I have described."
He pauses a moment and considers;
"it is also true that The Dagda, if he ever really existed, was likely the face taken by another. One that sought to hold the mantle of a god, worthy or otherwise. I imagine everyone here is familiar with someone creating such a thing for the adoration of the kine."
He regards around the room, a sense of contentment around him.
"I imagine some of you will have questions."

Dukes leans forward, the mania lessening.
"Tuatha de Danann, that translates as the children of Dana, or Danu, a water god."
He creases his brow.
"The Morrigan is part of the same pantheon."

Valentina is losing herself to storytime heaven as she listens to her Elders talk. Eyes shining and breath stilled she's taking careful mental note of everything, better to be able to ask intelligent questions later.

Another drink from the hip flask to settle her nerves. She did want to know about the cup and Elder Keane’s story but her mind kept wandering. Where is Jerome? Perhaps he went straight to the Chantry... someone ought to be for there duties after all.

She glances at Jean - Jaques next to her again, a bloody horse. A white one at that. What the hell was she supposed to do with that!? Yes she understood the symbolism of it but.. She won’t be able to get anywhere near it. What use was it? What will he think of next? She smiles to herself... she found that she was actually looking forward to finding out.

Keane regards Jean-Jacques;
"These things I do not, if they even existed at all. It is important to remember that these things I have described to give better understanding of a legend. Often there are tales of things given animation by those that tell them. If he had a club, it could well have been just a stick. The ladle I think is obviously a story because why would you need need something two men could sit in to serve from something the size of a chalice? It is also said that the Dagda had two pigs, one that always grew and one that always Roasted but I don't think there will be much value in seeking arcane pork. No, I do not think any of his other legendary artifacts are real I'm afraid. Not from that story at least, just poor creatures giving names to a powerful thing in the dark."
He smiles softly, it's not usual that he enjoys this kind of attention and it has a sort of novelty to it.
