Trying to Get Home

A half-way house for the weary Kindred, this old tavern is set back off the road in its own grounds, in the heart of the countryside. Nominally still in Reading's catchment area, and thus sanctuary, this beautiful ivy-climbed cottage is Kindred-friendly (and Kindred approved!). It is a sprawling barn conversion with twenty light-tight quaint rooms, two wings and a central lounge area overlooked by the balcony of the story above. There are small parlours and a library. Outside, a split carriage path winds around a wishing well, leading to the stables and the apple orchid at the back. Beyond the orchid, is a dark forest. No one knows how the cottage stays clean.

Uriah looks ever so faintly displeased with Keane's response but it is an expression that passes quickly from his face. He simply ignores the Malkavian accepting the drink he is offered instead. As he reaches for it he sniffs, eyes narrowing ever so slightly behind the mask. He stops and looks Jean-Jacques up and down.
"You smell like someone I have been looking for. Just what have you gotten yourself into?"
He takes the glass and regards it.
"Hmm, what has this been mixed with?" A look to Jean-Jacques. Then to the assembled.
"Who claims responsibility for this one? Where is his Sire?"

Grace rises and moves from the comfort of Aldrich towards Prince Uriah.
She walks slowly, eyes cast downward in respect as she tries hard to concentrate on being calm and not tremble.

When she reaches a respectful long step away, Grace sinks to her knees, head bowed, before him

"My Prince, your Majesty, as of this evening Monsieur Marcheux is my unreleased Childer,"

And she waits to hear her fate.

Prince Uriah certainly wasn't someone Andross had expected to be walking into here, he wasn't exactly expecting half the people here either but there are levels to quite who you may consider running into on accident. Who would appear next, Vortigern and Vykos perhaps crashing through the wall mid fight? Only time would tell...

Andross stands and bows out of respect for the Prince who had appeared.

"Prince Uriah. It truly was a wonderous event you allowed us to partake in, i thank you deeply for the oppirtunity to have allowed an Ancillae such as i to have experienced it."

He moves over and takes a knee next to Grace as evidence her clan stands with her for support and to share any scolding Uriah may wish to give her.

Uriah shows a face of genuine bemusement as Grace is named sire. When she and Andross kneel before him he regards them with an interested eye.
"Ancilla Granville," He looks her over, "And now Primogen also I see. My how busy you have been. There is an air of difference about you as well. How very well mannered the Clan Brujah has become." He pauses a moment his eyes searching the air around her. "Clan Brujah indeed. Though with an air of calm quite unlike your fellows."
He puts the drink down on the table.
"Not to my taste, but certainly a valiant attempt I am sure. Well, Primogen, for such a young childe he is most inoffensive, though I am sure you and I will have much to discuss regarding his embrace." A smile. Then, attention completely removed from Grace for the moment (it seems as if Andross was beneath notice) he turns to Aldritch.
"Ah, Architect Beaufort, Spoor Of Mithras. What has brought me is a carriage, I have things to discuss with Ancilla Audley and may even travel to Bristol. I do not care to take 'Night's Off' but rather wished to discover how those that had attended my little Soiree had found it. Of course, half of the credit lies with Mithras. It was he that decided it was to be Lupercalia festival of course. I had my own ideas but he did beg so that I had to take pity on him."
Having relaxed into the room he looks around.
"So, how did you each find it? And please, do provide some details, the unqualified expressions of thanks do get tiresome after a while."

Aldrich smiles as Uriah speaks. He secretly enjoys the obtuse nature of his answer.

"Ah business with your favoured. Seems appropriate." He begins "in a word. I'd refer to the soiree as interesting. Of course I will ensure that Mithras receives the same amount of unqualified expressions of tiresome thanks."

He relaxes back into the sofa.

Niketas watches, eyes flitting around the room. At Uriah's entrance and the subsequent questions, he smiles.
"It was a parade of dreams, Prince Uriah, a few months shy of Midsummer, but the Bard would have delighted in it."
He stands slowly, giving a bow to Uriah.
"I intend to take some time to gather my thoughts and ensure the region is secure, by your leave of course. Should you require me this night I am happy to assist."

As Grace and Andross kneel and bow to Uriah, Laurence rises and joins the other Brujah Ancilla in giving a deep bow. Uriah’s entrance may have raised his hackles and given a distinctly angry tint to his aura, but manners and politeness were important parts of holding the beast back on a tight leash.

“Intense would be the descriptor I would use.”

Laurence’s words are quiet as he rises from the bow and returns to sitting. Removing his spectacles and once more trying to clear the lenses of steam.

Jean-Jacques places the glass of whiskey back on the tray and stands aside.

"Blood and ecstasy"

He looks down at Grace and Andross

Valentina is sitting quietly, hands clasped in her lap, backnstraight and head slightly bowed, the perfect image of a demure maiden. But her face is frowning in that mildly puzzled way she's had for the past few nights, as though she cannot decide which dress to design next. She was unsure about the sound of business to discuss, but Uriah being Uriah herfeelings were irrelevant and... there was a small chance it would be positive for her. It was always impossible to tell so not worth worrying over til he announced it.

Inside her head she's watching and amassing all the information she can for mental perusal later. Dukes leaving as Uriah arrives, does that have to do with the dagger analogy he'd been stopped from explaining? Laurence's now familiar flares of temper, did the man ever do anything with his anger beside sulk? Smart not to explode at a Prince but always holding it i couldn't be good for one surely? The slight tension between Keane and Uriah, seems unlikely to be caused just be her presence, but given their mutual acquaintance she'd have thought them more likely to be allies than not. Curious. Grace's new and disconcerting habit of crying rather than angering was a worrying development, but probably one that was unwise to draw attention to at this time. Aldrich was as inscrutable as ever, though as far as she could tell still protective which was useful and that left.... Andross who always flies under the radar. Definitely an enigma that one. Had she been as much a surprise to him she wondered and what does he know that I need to discover?

Aloud she says 'truly, I don't think I could have envisioned anything so all encompassing." A small smile flickers on her face. "There were so many new people to meet and so much going on that time seemed to speed past."
Only proper in public darling...
