Satisfaction Graunted

A run of Georgian three-story office buildings back on to the river just to the west of the Newark Foundry, this is an apparent ill-fated attempt by the bourgeoisie to launch a beachhead south of the river before the fires of industry rendered the area barely habitable to those of refined taste. Formerly nearly derelict these buildings have been bought up an unknown benefactor and turned into an elegant gentleman’s club. There are many stories about what goes on behind the solid black door, it’s membership however remain tight lipped – nothing more than to confirm the excellence of the recently installed French Chef. To the North the buildings back directly onto the river, looking almost mournfully back towards Green Park; to the south thick iron railings run protecting the building from the street and taciturn bailiffs regularly patrol the frontage to move on any who seek to loiter or sponge off guests arriving or leaving.

At this point the side door indicated earlier by Beauclair opens and in walks Campion, he stops just inside the meeting room.

"My Prince, the chamber is prepared and secured they can proceed as soon as you've finished here." He inclines his head towards the other Elders in the room in acknowledgement of their presence. "Lady Leverson, Architect Clyntahn, good of you both to join us here tonight."

At the Architects short but obvious slight, Lady Leverson has shifted a little, its not easy to say exactly what has changed but she is no longer simply a graceful Lady with a proper posture, something about her subtlety oozes of tension, her almost smile has gone.

Could I ask a question please? Before we proceed?

I was invited here by our Lord Prince to discuss the concerns raised in regards to this weapon.

I feel that only half the information is being disclosed.

It seams that Taylor was heavily if not predominantly responsible in creating the weapon and yet only Mr Black and Ms Flubert are here to help in resolving the matter. What will be done with Taylor?

Could it be that he has also merely paid a minor boon to the Prince? as the Architect did when his child flagrantly breached the Masquerade?

Francis stood, his skin pales and his eyes sink, becoming dark hollows as his beast tries to assert itself to attack the source of this thinly veiled attack. He stops pausing for 10 long seconds icy science settling across the room. Finally a smile crosses his lips as he turns to Lady Leverson to respond.

Thank you for your helpful commend Lady Leverson. I have asked you and architect Clyntan here as two very respected members of the Camerilla here to bear witness that these two kindred have had the dangerous knowledge regarding the formula removed. I have done this in good faith as I understand that this is an issue of grave concern to the Camerlilla and I wish to ensure complete confidence that this has been dealt with. I do not intend to make any public announcements regarding the matter as I do not believe it would be helpful to broadcast information regarding it any further the is absolutely necessary

These too have vounteered infornation to me, explained to me that it was created in a sincere effort to provide weapons to fight against the Sabbat and have both provided considerable service to the court in their own way. Clearly this weapon is too dangerous to be allowed to continue to exist so steps have been put in place to ensure no more can be created. Given the co-operationof these 2 I have shown them a certain amount of courtesy in how they removed the relevant information.

I do not believe Dr Taylor has provided the same service to our court and warrants the same levels of courtesy. Robust measures will be put in place to permenantly deal with any threat he or the information he holds presents.

When he has been dealt with I will inform you both.

Campion steps forward and addresses the gathering vultures ready to pick at the whatever bones they can find...

"Let us be clear, this is not a punishment and you've not been asked to sit in judgement. If word of this discovery gets out it will destabilise the City, our struggle with the Sabbat and shake the foundations of the Camarilla. This cannot be allowed to happen! Mr Black & Miss Flaubert are here for their protection as much as anything else, they realised what they had and what it could mean. Dr Taylor has not come forth to stand with his fellow reseerchers and will be dealt with accordingly, swiftly and permanently.

What is expected of you two as Elders of the Camarilla and Primogens of your clans, is to witness what happens here so that your fears may be laid to rest. I would also hope that you will be able to use your influence where needed to squash any rumours of this poisons existence, if two kindred who are often and publically at loggerheads with each other can agree there is no poison, and never will be it will greatly help protect the city from repercussions."

Campion looks directly at Clyntahn and Leverson to see if the gravity of his words has sunk in, and that they understand exactly what is at stake here.

Zhaspar had to bite back his initial retort to Gwen's comment. Although practised at maintaining his composure in a way that only 800 years playing the Jihad will instil, he cannot hold back a look of pure loathing in Gwen's direction. It is perhaps this mental unbalancing that leads to his curt response to Albert Campion.

"Ofcause I understand the gravity of the situation. I was the person who called for this very outcome months ago, I also warned the prince about the dangers faced by Samuel Taylor and his accursed experiments with Kindred blood. Still, I understand the necessity to impress the seriousness of the situation and perhaps we should now turn to the specific questions you would like me to ask Miss Flaubert?"

Turning slightly to face Gwen, as if it were but an afterthought.

"Oh, and Lady Leverson, insinuating my childe broke the masquerade is a direct insult to me. Continue throwing baseless accusations and you will be warned."

'HA!'

Lady Leverson rocks back in her chair apparently amused by the Architects threat.

As she rocks forward she rolls to her feet her expression melts from crinkled laughter to a stare that would make even the coldest heart flinch

The fact that your childe broke the first tradition was not in anyway implied.

I witnessed it myself whilst on patrol for the Prince. She was brazen enough that her mesmerising effects on humans were reported in the newpapers. No attempts to cover up this crime were made until after I informed the Prince of what had happened. At which point you paid boons to both the Prince and Jackdaw then used corrupt police to pass information of the mutilated body of an innocent to the newspapers, resulting in a shoddy cover up.

If anything at all was implied it is that you are a poor Sire, for you short comings I name you Vulgar and you should thank your Lord Prince that I respect his presence and property enough that you are currently in possession of all of your limbs.

"That is a lie!"

Furious, Zhaspar has to control the impose to launch himself out of his seat. he pauses to ensure he is fully composed, with the rest coming out in a more matter of fact tone.

"We are close to destroying the individual to which you speak, who we last spotted in Bruja territory no less. Possibly an agent of the Sword of Cane which of cause you would know nothing about."

"My Childe was cleared by the Sheriff and the Prince is satisfied with that conclusion. I find your continued lies repugnant and beneath your station as primogen. With these fine elders here as witness I declare you warned."

"Prince Beauclair, Professor Campion. I apologise for the direction this meeting has taken. Please would you both accept a trivial boon from me in recommence."

Francis stand white with rage.

In a quiet dangerous voice he says "You will both be silent"

This meeting has been called to discuss a matter of the gravest concern to the city. You will both cease this incessant bickering. If either of you feel incapable of setting aside your personal issues for the brief time it takes to resolve this issue then please leave so the rest of us can get on with the task or preserving the city. Should either of you require assurance in resolving the matter in the old manner I will be happy to make a location available but in the meantime you are both guests in my house and that you both show the courtesy expected to an established kindred." He glances up as Dorien and Constanse, "Especially in front of the younger kindred"

Whilst the elders debate the moral standing of each other, Constance and Dorian move into the room opened by Campion. They close the doors and emerge a short while later.
