The Culture Tour

"Were you unaware miss Valentina? Our Dukes here is quite the social person when it comes to the inanimate. He has quite the intriguing history from what i remember him speaking of it. Perhaps our host may be persuaded to open up with some tales of his past during his party later?"

[Posh-Tim]

As the conversation on angels and the personality of objects waxes on a figure looms out of the darkness from around the Abbey. Elder Keane is feeling a little grumpy. A whole load of mucking about round crypts and now he couldn't find the tour he was supposed to be attending. Worse still, he wasn't sure where Raife had gotten to and that probably wasn't a good thing. His robes were muddy round the hem, enough that he was aware of it and he resolved they would need replacing some time in the near future. He heard familiar voices, specifically that of Dukes and finally managed to find the party.
In soft Welsh he intones;
"Ah, how wonderful, I have found you all at last. I am afraid I was delayed somewhat by a lack of, Umm, assistance. I do hope I am not too late to learn more of Aquae Sulis."
As he approaches he smiles and nods to Price.

Dukes blinks in confusion.
"I forget... you don't have my eyes. Auspex is similar, it lets you trace the memories of a thing. But their words..."
He smiles, a crease in his eyes.
"That's Magick."
He sighs, tapping his lenses.
"The trade-off is learning to filter all the sounds out, they're always talking, everything is always talking, none of them know you can't hear them. I have to dam my ears whenever I shop for furniture, and don't get me started on antique shops. When everything is screaming you learn to dislike jewellery."
He winces.
"Not yours, it's lovely Valentina, though your velvet choker keeps asking when it can dance with the filigree stick again, whoever that was oh hello-"
He stoops down and picks up a pebble.
"This rock is friendly, I'm taking her home later."

When Keane arrives, the Sheriff's eyes focus.
"Ah, elder! A private word please?"

Keane looks around and opens his mouth as if to speak with the surrounding attendees. It is impossible to know however as he blinks a few times at Dukes' request. He tilts his head sideways in a questioning fashion then nods.
"If you would like to then yes. I do hope it won't take us away for too long though."
He nods again to the others and turns aside. Walking a short distance away that he can speak with the Sheriff.

[Jean-Jacques]

Stood near Elder Price, Jean Jacques is focussed upon the sight of the angels on their ladders, he had come to the city a year ago and still had hardly spent time to take in the sights.

He silently nods at those describing the small carvings and even the nature of the material.

“Eet ees indeed zomzing I ‘ave not seen ze likes of en France”

He remains gaze taking in the detail of the carvings, searching for meanings amongst the images.

Jerome follows in the wake of the group, content to allow the arisen muse to the lead until more ardent corralling was required. At the Malkavian's approach his eyes soak in the details, the searching gaze, mud splatter, evident bustle and stumbling over words... and of course the missing childe, despite the elder's enthusiasm for them to attend together at Elysium. One had to wonder what story lay behind this arrival, but for now it would have to wait...

Jerome returns the smile and nod, "You are not late at all, we had not wandered far from our beginnings and I have made some arrangements which should hopefully allow for any late arrivals to be redirected to join us over the course of the evening. I see however our dear Sheriff seeks to sequester you before you have had a chance to soak up some of the culture we are exploring, I am sure that Elder Dukes would not drag you off for business unless it were urgent, after all Elder Keane seemed ... well, quite keen to join us tonight."

Keane and Dukes are gone only for a moment then return to the gathering of Kindred. Keane approaches Jerome.
"Keeper Price, I am very 'keen' to discover what Aquae Sulis has to offer in these latter nights. Should there be introductions before we continue? Or would you like to talk about this abbey directly? I do not wish to divert this tour any more than necessary."

[Jerome Price]

Jerome waits, allowing the rest to continue discussion of angels until the Sheriff and Elder return.

At Elder Keane's words Jerome will bow slightly, "Of course. Introductions. I believe you know most present, but I shall rattle through some introductions quickly and allow any who wish to introduce themselves more directly to do so. We are graced with the presence of not one, but two of Mithras's line this evening both Elder Marco Falko and Elder Aurelia of clan Ventrue" he indicates the two individuals leaving an appropriate time for Elder Keane to show proper respect to the individuals before continuing. "You know the officers of the court, Dukes and myself, then Ancilla Valentina Audley and Tatiana Ivanov of clan Toreador who are both masters of their respective crafts. Finally, it would seem we have a substantial contingent form the Brujah..." he pauses seeming to count the Brujah, "Unless I am mistaken, all of the current resident Brujah. Ancilla Lady Grace, Andross Blint and Laurence as well as Neonate Jean-Jacques, one of our newly appointed scourges."

"You had mentioned you intended to bring your Childe with you Elder," he steps as though to look behind Elder Keane, "Is the young thing riding your coat-tails? Or have they found themselves lost in one of the hidden nooks and crannies that Ms Audley mentioned earlier?"

Keane nods respectfully to each of the Elders as they are named. Murmers greetings to each and his eyes linger a moment on the newcomer, Aurelia. He offers no deference to the others but listens to their entries politely. At the keepers inquiry after Raife he gets a little flustered and attempts to cover it up, but not very well.
"Now, yes, Raife. I did have him earlier this evening. I believe he will be joining us."
Then under his breath, not quietly enough.
"If he knows what's good for him."

[Valentina Audley]

"Indeed Mr Blint, I was quite unaware! I regret to say the good Sheriff and I are not really acquainted."

Miss Valentina? Did Andross think they were in the colonies?! Informality is one thing, but really! She keeps a polite smile on her face, but for a moment her aura is ruffled. Then Dukes speaks and Valentina is distracted, one hand slipping up to her neck to gently pat the scarlet ribbon holding the cameo upon her neck with a small smile.

"Alas sir, my necklace must learn to be patient, though I approve it's taste." And her aura flickers with amusement.

At Keane's appearance Valentina stills into silence, listening respectfully whilst he and Jerome converse though news he has a childe pricks her curiosity again. She wanders idly if the childe is released, though she suspects if they show she'll find out soon enough.
