The Culture Tour

This is the dividing line - the place where the unwashed and the upper class are forced into each others paths. The lanes and streets joining the North to the South are thronged with the citizens of the city throughout the evenings, innocent and guilty alike. Here, the rich rub shoulders with the poor; from here, the ego and true pretentiousness of the city can be seen.

Aldrich turns to face lady grace.

"But or course, duty calls." He smiles and nods "hopefully they won't keep you when we arrive at the theatre"

His arm returns to his side and he continues walking

"Oh no need for apologies, we all make mistakes Elder Hermina. It is one of the most human things about us and therefore should be worn with pride. But learning from our mistakes, now that is truly something"

He smiles widely seemingly unoffended, and unphased

Grasping the finer points of understanding towards Lady Grace stepping away from the elders, Andross moves towards her to take the positon of the mentioned clanmate.

"I had not wished to steal you away from the attention of the elders, but thank you for your attention Primogen, i had wished to inform you that i will be unavailable for a couple of months to assist in any matters locally the clan may have as i will travelling about in hopes of making connections and furthering our the names of our good clanmates."

"Pointless Journey to Wales?" Valentina sounds confused. "I'm afraid I don't know Elder Stone very well, in fact we've only spoken once and that was when he apologised to me."

"I'm also not very familiar with the House on the Hill, though I know of it of course."

She stays quiet as he thinks, smiling at his comment on Raife's education. "Indeed, education is a wonderful thing Elder Keane."

Now pretty much ignoring the other elders Keane carrys on.
"oh yes, quite pointless. It was an expedition to an ancient castle in Wales in search of knowledge and artefacts. Yet once we arrived it was painfully apparent that the place had already been picked up clean by the Elders previous expedition. Most disappointing. Yes, the house is a most intriguing place. Filled still with mystery and enchantment." A slight pause. "Though I wouldn't recommend visiting it seems to have a preference for Malkavians."
He stops rambling on for a moment and realises he's only been talking about himself.
"But what about you? Envoy from Bristol? Was there a tike when you called Aquae Sulis your home?"
He regards Valentina with a polite interest.

(OOC - Have started a new thread for the after party for when players are ready for that in the North of River - Other section. Copy of my previous post there as a starting point. No rush, but wanted it available for book-keeping in case I didn't have time to respond today)

"Oh yes. Up until quiet recently in fact." She smiles cheerfully.

"My Lady, Prince Dyonisia was the Master Harpy here, before her move. She and I have ever been close and well... I missed her too much to stay so far from her, so I moved to be at her side."

She pauses and smiles ruefully. "Only to find that I missed Aquae Sulis and many of those here. So my Lady who is ever kind to me, suggested I might like to be her Envoy and in return for carrying messages to and from for her, I have both her closeness and the chance to see much of the City I care for." As she talks about Dyo her aura brightens with love. Dyonisia clearly holding a special position in Valentina's heart.

More interested in him than in her history she turns the conversation back to him. "What bought you to Aquae Sulis Elder? Forgive me if I am presumptuous, but I take it from your accent that you are not local?" She smiles up at him, curious but also making polite conversation.

As they are talking and Valentina's aura swells with talk about Dyonisia. Keanes aura by comparison slightly, almost imperceptibly, dies back. He carries it off and keeps the conversation going.
"Ah well, those are two very different questions. Why did I return? Well, I do not know how well it is known, but I myself recieve visions." He looks around a moment before continuing, heedless of the Kindred but making sure to lower his voice around any mortals. "Thoughts and images of portent and sign. It was a vision of incredible power that compelled me to return to Bryth- sorry, England."
He sighs momentarily, punctuating his speech an edge of wistful sadness to his voice.
"As for local, I am hardly local anywhere now. I once called lands not so distant from here my home. But my accent... I think it is a kind of sympathetic connection to the place I was born. It seems to strengthen with nearness to there, though it bears little similarity to anything I am familiar with."
He gives her a smile in such a way that all of what he just said should make perfect sense.

“So Architect, have you seen this play before? I have a couple of times, it is quite an amusing farce. I am glad that you are taking time out to enjoy yourself. The Ventrue in Aquae Sulis always appear very diligent when it comes to their clan’s business. I am not saying that this should change in any way at all, after all my clan’s duties are up most in my mind at all times, but I recognise the need to relax. What is that saying you English have?...ah Si... All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy? I hope your time away from court involved at least some play?”
She looks at Aldrich with interest, waiting to hear his answer.

Valentina spots the change in his aura, but politely pretends not to notice. He must not be a sharer she thinks, without rancour. Perhaps Jerome can enjoy his company later.

She smiles again and nods in understanding. "Visions can be very compelling can't they? Such curious things..." She trails off, not sure how to carry that particular conversation on in public.

When he corrects himself she waits til the end of his speech then says "Please Elder, what was the old name for England? I should very much like to know."
