The Culture Tour

This is the dividing line - the place where the unwashed and the upper class are forced into each others paths. The lanes and streets joining the North to the South are thronged with the citizens of the city throughout the evenings, innocent and guilty alike. Here, the rich rub shoulders with the poor; from here, the ego and true pretentiousness of the city can be seen.

He smiles to Hermina

"All an act Elder Zaragoza I can assure you, but of course on the one condition that you are at peace with the idea that you may end up steadying me."

He turns sideways to Hermina with his arm bowed, his smile persisting.

“But of course dear Architect, we will look after one another. I am sure I can find ways to distract you... “ she pauses for effect, “like pointing out local landmarks or particularly interesting people as we speed past them.”

She takes his proffered arm and they both alight the tram, taking a seat next to one another.

Dukes signs with relief at the horse-powered vehicle.
"Thank the sisters," he mutters, clambering into the back of the carriage, shrinking into the corner, toying with setting his satchel on the seat beside him to limit company.

“He can travel with us,” Aurelia says to Keane, “if he doesn’t mind staying quiet around my companion. I admit, if he antagonises him, it won’t be him who responds - it will be me. I can appreciate a Childe with a good backbone, but not when aimed at an ally. It’s your choice, elder.”

Aurelia hops onto the tram after Dukes, sitting next to him and offering a proper hand up for Valentina to sit beside her, boxing the sheriff in.

Valentina takes the hand offered her and climbs up, neatly tucking her skirts in around her as she does so. She smiles and murmurs her thanks to Aurelia as she takes the seat her Elder intended for her.

"Please Sheriff, won't you tell us how you and Sophia became acquainted?" She asks softly, her tones gentle and her face slightly pleading, to wheedle the story out of him and hopefully distract him from his seeming dislike of the journey.

The Sheriff puts his satchel on his lap, nearly vanishing into his coat.
"There's no great story there, I was travailing to Gloucester to unravel the mysteries of a magical tide which had driven the Sword from the region. On the way I was accosted by kindred protecting their territory. A great shaping battle ensued as crows made of ice battled goats made of fire. The earth splintered and I traded words with ancients.
"When I left the forest, little Sophia was impressed by me, she followed me through Bristol and beyond. Birds make excellent friends and focii so I let her stay."
He shrugs.
"Not much of a story really."

Keane nods to Aurelia;
"I believe Raife is at least familiar with the circles of polite society to know when is best to ply discretion. That, and he will be by my side the entire journey."
With this he shoots a withering gaze at Raife, then the tram rounds the corner. At which he actually perks up.
"Oh I see, so its just a carriage on tracks? Very tidy. Well that is pleasing. Come by here Raife."
With which he hops up into the carriage expecting Raife to follow.
He sits and listens to Dukes' fantastical tale.

Grace glances to her clan mates.
"I am sure the Brujah, as a clan, can forgo this pleasure and take the second tram or simply walk at a distance to not disturb equine sensibilities and meet you as you alight. You all enjoy,"

Grace is fairly certain they are all young or worldly enough to have experienced train travel and therefore follow her lead, hopefully.

Laurence pauses, in the act of pulling himself up into the tram when Grace speaks. Elegantly stepping down, he inclines his head.

"As the Primogen commands."

Turning to look at the horses, Laurence smiles. Observing that the time put into learning how to interact well with animals despite his beast was well spent.

Valentina politely pretends to not be listening to Keane and Aurelia's discussion of Raife and instead turns her attention to Dukes.

"Oh please Sheriff, won't you tell us more? I should very much like to hear about the missing Sword, Crows of Ice, Goats of Fire and the Ancients if you would be willing to share with us. It sounds so very cultural. Please?" And she gazes hopefully at him, making no effort to hide her desire to hear the rest of the story or her pleading expression.
