The Culture Tour

This is the dividing line - the place where the unwashed and the upper class are forced into each others paths. The lanes and streets joining the North to the South are thronged with the citizens of the city throughout the evenings, innocent and guilty alike. Here, the rich rub shoulders with the poor; from here, the ego and true pretentiousness of the city can be seen.

Nobody really noticed Keane amble off into the Abbey but he returns shortly after Aurelia and Valentina. He seems placid and satisfied though not entirely sure how much culture he just absorbed.
As the new party members arrive he stands and listens to their greetings, mulling over the music he just heard.

For a moment the arrival of two more Kindred, especially two Elders, or at least he presumed from the forwardness of the woman with the Keeper caused Laurence to tense. But a small breath in and a slow long exhale allowed the tension to drain from his shoulders.

This isn’t New York dammit. Stop being overly paranoid.

Sketching a bow to the two newcomers, Laurence let’s a small smile play across his lips once more. Moving to stand closer to the other Ancilla in the little group.

Valentina curtseys politely to Aldrich before accepting his hand. She cannot place him in her memory, but his familiarity with her means presumably they've spoken before.

"Good evening Elder Beaufort, hiw lovely to see you this night. Are you joining our tour?"

As Hermina kisses Jerome in the cheek Valentina keeps a bland countenance, locking her irritation inside her. How many of my paramours does she want? She cannot help but think to herself. She watches Jerome closely to see his reponse to Hermina.

Smiling at Grace, Tatiana and Dukes she comments "bathing in the hot springs is a wonderful plan! Though Elder Price is entirely correct, it is best arranged in advance." Given their public location she decides not to comment hat she also abhord the modern bathing suits.

Aurelia stalls while Valentina offers her hand.

"I have er.... a.... constitution that..." she casts around. "Requires gloves! Aha -" she flourishes some little travelling gloves, soft leather, and slips them on before taking his hand. "My apologies, for my sensitivity. I tend not to touch. I'm sure your hands are dazzling."

"What's this about swimming? This better not forestall the after-party. Although I do like swimming."

Jerome bows to Elder Beaufort before cupping Madam Zaragoza's face and kissing her on both cheeks in the continental style... although from a different angle some may perceive it to be a little closer to her lips than cheeks. "Well met Elders Zaragosa and Beaufort, welcome to our entourage. I hope those who listened to the music found it of inspiration but as indicated, perhaps we should move on, from old to new, we have a rendevous with the trams." He begins to move, following the streets to the east and river-ward, moving closer to Elders Keane and Aurelia as he leads off and assuming the rest will follow in their wake.

"No need to worry Elder Aurelia, we shall arrange the bathing and swimming for another night. I do hope you enjoyed the music, Tallis has always been one of my favourites, in fact I was fortunate enough to be present for the original performance of his masterpiece Spem in Alium. To my mind music has always been the greatest of all cultural inventions as it crosses any barrier which language may interpose, is it not strange that even if you have not heard the style of music before it still manages to convey a level of meaning which transcends any conventional need for interpretation? What do you think?" he seems quite genuinely passionate as he speaks about this.

He smiles at Valentina "it's been a while, I'm sure you've all been very busy whilst I've been away. Of course it is lovely to see you once again. I do hope to spend more time here in the future, well considering the talk of swimming, I'd be foolish to not join in. If you'll have me Keeper Price."

He chuckles to Aurelia in a friendly manner

"Of course elder, as is your want. You'll find no judgment from me"

He takes her gloved hand and plants a kiss across her knuckles.

He smiles to Aurelia before his attention is taken by elder Zaragoza

"Ah Elder Zaragoza, like the others it has been a while. I presume you've kept the young ones entertained over the past year." His smile persists as he approaches elder Hermina.

So, thinks Hernina, Jerome does want still want to hold back a little from sharing out relationship with everyone? She shrugs internally. It does not particularly concern me, I just thought he wanted to be more open. I suspect he wants to keep Valentina from guessing. Little does she know that Jerome and I have been lovers for centuries.

She rolls her eyes slightly at the mention of trams. She had heard enough about them and trains from Max to last her an eternity. She will dutifully follow the group though.

“Oh Architect Beaufort, how lovely to see you again. I assure you the Ventrue neonates are far from bored.”

Keane nods quietly as he walks alongside Jerome and Aurelia. His early jitters have subsided quite entirely from the shaky arrival and repeated questions.
"Yes, it was quite spectacular. I have no great knowledge of music and the arts but it did inspire a most incredible meditative state. Music that seems to have a magic all of its own."
He looks off into the middle distance a little.
"It would be nice to have a swim"
He murmers to himself.

On the far side of Aurelia, still arm in arm with her, Valentina listens quietly as her Elders talk, concentrating on being unobtrusive and keeping up.

She has much to occupy her thoughts right now, between swimming and Hermina's arrival, a moment of quiet contemplation is useful. So she does what she does best and quietens into a polite and attentive ancilla.
