A new take on past events.

[Mrs K. Saunders]

"Oh just Dr. Dukes has promised for some time now to give me a private seance and the only time he and I can make is when he has to travel to Bristol. Nothing especially important. As I said I will have no opportunity to meet any of the residents of Bristol whilst there. Well I hope that you and I can look to get know each other well over the coming months. I will endeavour to keep you up to date with any diplomatic news I have. If, of course, I have the liberty to pass it on."

She starts to stand. There is no point in pushing things any further now, thinks Katherine. Little by little is the best way to build respect and trust.

"I must make my way now I am afraid as I have another appointment. When do you think that the bonnet and caplet with be ready? We must of course arranged another time to discuss my new burgundy dresses too."

[Valentina Audley]

"Ah yes, I have heard his seances are quite the thing." Valentina can understand the fascination, though she personally intends to stay as far away from them as she can. She's still not sure what would be worse, if Andrew appeared or if he didn't.

She stands as Katherine does, smiling cheerfully.

"The bonnet and capelet will be delivered in a fortnight." She promises. "As for dresses, I am not often here these days, but if you are in Bristol, I can more often be found in the Thimble there."

She opens the door into the shop front room "I do look forward to seeing you again Mrs Jackdaw." The words are, apparently sincere, though the facial expression that accompanies it is politely bland. A very good diplomatic expression in fact.

[Mrs K. Saunders]

"Thank you for your time and congenial hospitality. I look forward to meeting again soon. Good evening Miss Audley."
Katherine gives a small curtesy and goes towards the shop door.

[Valentina Audley]

"Good Evening, Mrs Jackdaw." Valentina bobs her own curtsey and stays smiling until the door is safely closed behind Katherine.
