A new proprietress

It is early evening and the first of Eve's customers are arriving. The usual staff are all present, fetching drinks, topping up the spirit lamps or fetching more of the den's renowned opium.

For the more high profile clientele, there are introductions to the Den's new proprietress. Thick red curls cascade down her neck in a careless tumble. The deep red gown she wears is reminiscent of the orient, though her accent seems to hover somewhere between English and French with a hint of otherness which few manage to identify.

She seems to be reviewing ledgers, though makes it clear she has time talk for those interested and coherent enough.
