An unexpected guest

For those Southern Haunts that either remain unspecified or too specific to fit into any other category. For example, if you wish to post a one-shot on your character's activities in their Haven but don't wish to advertise the fact of it's existence in a specific district. There are abandoned warehouses, looming ruins, closed shops and empty, filthy gardens...

Yorick smiles back.

"Of cause, I will help."

"I am afraid the Living Saint has higher matters to concern himself with and on reflection, it is right and proper he shunned the fairer sex lest he is distracted from pious contemplation of the higher mysteries"

"It may be best if you demonstrate for Jack your martial abilities, your passion! I know from experience that Jack is a very.... passionate individual. Perhaps he could witness your skill with a blade or bow and learn to appreciate you for you?"

I am afraid that that route is already a dead end. I do not use weaponry.
I will try what I can.
I feel we may be coming to the end of words needed on this subject.

I had a interesting meeting with Elder Jackdaw who apprised me of a larger situation between Mithras and the a Elder Malkavian Vortigan. He said that you and he are of this same opinion on the subject.
I thought I would ask you if that is correct, as you see it"

Yorick notices the sudden change in subject. Mentally cursing Jack for making this so difficult.

“I believe Elder Jackdoor’s views and my own on this malkavian elder align. I have been collecting information, well Lenore and I have been collecting information on this Elder for quite sometime. Why, what causes you to bring up Vortigern of all people?”

"I knew nothing of this and yet have been asked to take a side or at least to assist.

"I am not prepared to do that for anyone until I am fully appraised of the situation. I also don't take the word of any that I don't know well at face value until I have decided they are worthy of trust."

These are obviously well thought through words that have been prepared for some time.

I know it is a odd question, don't be concerned, I do not have anything further to ask on this.
I just wanted to be sure" she says firmly.
Grace pauses to ensure she is understood and collects herself before beginning the next thing that has been weighing on her mind

"I also wanted to thank you for your support in Court.
Andross and I had discussed the working of a clan with a absent Elder and I had reconcile to following his lead as one who has long dwelt in Bath and has better knowledge of the Court history but with the arrival of another Ancillia who seemed determined to push for his appointment as Primogen I decided it had better be me and fast last he undo all that I had started to do. Otherwise I would have not thought to push the appointment of one not an Elder.
I respect tradition and heritage. I am still not sure if it will have further consequences and I will step back if asked to."

This comes out as a great rush, it's a obvious relief to get it said.
She looks into Yoricks face for a reaction.
To ensure her honesty is taken in earnest.

"It caused Jack to further think ill of me which I regret.
I was told by my clan mates he was overheard saying loudly it was badly done.
I don't want trouble and yet it feels as though I have caused nothing else so far"

Here comes a silent pause and from Yoricks face Grace knows she has said far too much.
"When I have felt such conflict within myself before the spiritual is where I have always found solace.
Would you help me?"

Yorick looks compassionately at the troubled Brijah before him - recognising her one who was called by God to right a great many wrongs.

"No trouble at all, lady Grace. I see in your eyes a great passion. I understand how a clan is neglected without a voice on the council. Furthermore, you were a perfect example of why the primogens prohibition against ancillae sitting is both misguided and counterproductive. If you permit me an indulgence, it is no doubt Verity's idea, purely to consolidate his power base. All this feigned support for the prince he offers is simply because no Camarilla prince would have permitted him to get away with such debortury and lies for so long without repercussion, as his friend the revolting Elder Mirrisalv found out. Hopefully Elder Veritys status on the concil may yet change."

"But this is for the future. For now, in the spirit of fostering closer ties between the Nosfratu and the Brijah and perhaps in recompense for past ... unintentional misunderstandings ... between our two clans that have led to bloodshed. I am willing to provide you with some information on Vortigern and sell you other information, depending on where your curiosity takes you. I simply ask that you speak to your rest of your clan to remind them that I, and Lenore, will do what we can to support them."

Grace looks relieved,
"Yes, I heard in horror of what had happened to the beautiful Sulis of my youth. It was despicable. I wish certainly to do all I can to atone for by clans past here and improving our situation with the Nosferatu is something I hold dear.
As I said in Court, Brujah without leadership, pride and tempers so easily flare.
All infomation is useful to be now and I look forward to a mutually constructive future.

She looks thoughtful, "I don't wish to be crass but this place. I am sure you lack for little but may I make a offering towards its continued preservation ?"

"No, no, in no way is making offers to the house of God a sign of disrespect. Please, what did you have in mind? I am aware that your clan lives south of the river, although many choose to shun their assigned feeding grounds to live in more refined establishments. It is a sign of your character that you choose not too"

Grace looks to the floor for a moment as she reaches under her hair behind her neck, in a leather gloves hand she passes to Elder Yorick a locket.

The Oval locket is gold and you seem drawn to open it.
Inside it contains miniature portrait in watercolour, vellum laid on card, of bearded man in armour.
Turning back to the case as you close it, it is entirely covered with champlevé enamel, leaving thin outlines of gold; ground filled with gold scrolls on black; lid with lozenge quatrefoil; back with pansies, marguerites, green leaves and set with large square sapphire in centre, surrounded by rubies, opals and diamonds, with two emeralds; pendant pearl with enamelled setting.

"That should keep a few souls safe or please use it as you see fit.
It doesn't seem as important as it used to be.
This is better"
The slight smile Yorick recieves is firm and her eyes are bright.

"Thank you Lady Grace. This like it held great significance to you, may i ask who this knight is? An individual from your past perhaps?"

Yorick places the locket in his robes for safe keeping, mindfull to pass it on to Lenore when next they meet as a gift.
