A new start for the Neonate Council

[Mrs K. Saunders]

Mrs Katherine Jackdaw wandered anxiously throughout her rooms at their prestigious address on The Circus. She had only attended one of the previous incarnation of the Neonate Council, and that was exceptionally poor managed by...well she will not speak his name. She had hoped that the attendees would have sent her their ideas as to what to discuss but sadly not. Well then it gives her an opportunity to steer the conversation, maybe that would be better anyway.

"Ellen?" She called out.

A well dressed young woman entered the richly decorated red and gold drawing room, where Katherine currently stood.

"Yes mistress?"

Katherine smiled at her ghoul, she was priceless to her. She had helped through many ups and downs.
"The ladies and gentlemen should be arriving very shortly. Please could you show them all into this room?"

Ellen looks slightly nervous but determined to please her lady, "Of course, Mistress."

[annabelle]

A ghoul is waiting in the entrance looking tense and biting her lips. Annabelle steps closer to her and whispers soothing words to her. The ghoul smiles and points to the door “Lady Katherine is waiting for you my Lady, let me show you the room”
Annabelle doesn’t say a word and let the ghoul lead her.

Annabelle sees Katherine and smiles genuinely.

“Lady Katherine, glad to be here , I have high hopes for this council, thank you for organising it” she says but she doesn’t believe it. She already heard the rumors about the previous council and the only reason she decided to join was to be entertained. Hopefully it will be as bad as the previous one.

[Regulus Grey]

The large black Raven watched the given address from across the street. A beady black eye focuses on the front door and sees the young noblewoman enter. He would enter when the time seemed correct, hopefully this practise at the social game with begin to remind him of the politics of polite society.

[Christine Daye]

"...siúil, siúil, siúil a rúin.... siúil go sochair agus siúil go ciuin... siúil go doras agus éalaigh liom... "

As usual, Christine appears out of nowhere, heralded by a quiet song. She walks, attired in her usual green, briskly and cheerfully up to the door. A small smile lingers on her lips, which she smoothes away carefully.

Her song changes as she walks up to the door.

"You have rows and rows of angels lined up on your picture rail... all of them are smiling at you... they could tell a tale.... does it feel good... is it real?"

She nods at the ghoul as she's escorted to the drawing room.

"Good evening, Ellen. I hope you're well. Ah, Mrs Jackdaw, Lady Sinnet - how are you both? Am I horribly early? I quite lost track of the time and could have sworn that I was late!"

She giggles, high pitched and fae. She's in high humour this evening - what some uncharitable souls might describe as manic.

[CFlaubert]

A darkly hooded figure with a walking cane approaches the building. The tap tap of the cane on the cobbles is just discordant enough to grate on the ears of anyone present.

Thankfully the tapping stops as the bandaged form enters the room. Not a word is said as Constance throws back her hood, and drops into a nearby chair. Letting out a heavy sigh as she sits. She opens the cloak and carefully takes out two books, placing them on a nearby side table, as reading material for the evening.

The first is called De Ira, (those who read Latin, will know this to mean On Anger, a philosophical text from ancient Rome). The second is called More sprees in Sulis - Hints for Men about Town, with advice for greenhorns in the purchase of Friendship, and looks to be more of a worn periodical.

She opens the first and begins to read

[Violet Clyntahn]

Violet double checks the address on the invitation before walking to the door. She greets the ghoul politely and allows herself to be lead inside.

Once inside the drawing room, she nods to those already there, providing a cursory smile. “Good evening all, glad to see I am not late”.

She glances around the room for a moment before taking a seat.

[Eric Lunaris]

Kira and Eric arrived together, with any onlookers only noticing the latter when he knocked on the door. Eric greets to ghoul and confirms this is the correct place before having either of them enter. Erics eyes dart around the corridoors of the new place taking note of doors and windows.

He enters the drawing room with a broad smile, "Good evenin' all, thank ya for hostin' Mrriiss Saunders." He'd forgotten which name he was meant to be using for her in public, Eric could never remember these things. The thoughts were quickly dismissed as he sat between Violet and Constance, curious about the books.

[Regulus Grey]

Tiem to arrive.

The Raven looked down onto the street below it, mortals still moved back and forth so he would not be able to arrive in his flight form. The Raven gives a passable imitation of a shrug and quickly flaps down into a alley between the two buildings. It's form shimmers and grows, Regulus takes a moment to check that all the feathers went in before scratching the scaled skin of his forearms and ensuring his sleeves cover the disfigurement.

Stepping out of the alley, Regulus walks with purpose towards the door. Knocking and being greeted by the ghoul, he walks into the room with the other Kindred. Sketching a bow to Katherine he speaks, his voice low and smooth.

"Greeting Mrs Jackdaw. Thank you for organising this event, I hope it shall be as informative as I have been led to believe."

Glancing around at the room, he gives a quick bow to the ladies and nods to Eric.

"Are there any more to arrive?"

[LittleBird]

Kira follows Eric, following his stride and offering a curtsy of a greeting as he thanks their gracious host. "Tis incredibly kind of you to welcome us here," she offers a gentle smile, keeping her travelling cloak very much on and wrapped around her.
Her fingers are not free to explore, they are gloved and as they grasp her cloak to her, they rub against the intricate details around the clasp, and that all too familiar necklace that she'll never remove.
She'll sweep across the room, her eyes barely acknowledging a soul, though she'll grant a hearty nod to Constance, a look of pleasant surprise edges across her lips-taking in how relaxed and comfortable the nurse appears, as if it were a sight she was no longer accustomed too, and is glad to be reunited with.
Shaking such thoughts from her mind, she merely nod and take a seat closest to the window as her guide leaves her with no space to join him. She looks pensively out the window, her gloved fingers fluttering in time to her breaths.

Katherine greets every kindred with a small curtesy and smile as they enter the drawing room. She is nervous but so also excited that most of those invited have actually decided to attend.

"Mr Grey, I believe there are few more."

She glances at the clock resting on the mantle piece of the large fireplace. It is now ten minutes past the appointed time, she should start.

She stands and calls out.

"Ellen, please can you close the door now? There may be others but they can ring the bell."

There is a sound of the door gently closing and the ghoul waking further back into the house.

Katherine smiles broadly and looks around at the gathered kindred.

"Welcome, thank you all for coming this evening. I hope that it will be of use to us all. I will start with the obvious elephant in the room. As you can all see there is an Ancillae in our midst. My fellow clan mate and friend, Miss Caswell. She is here tonight as the Prince asked that I invite an Ancillae to the first two meetings. Now Prince Beauclair had no personal concerns regarding a Neonate Council but he understands that some Elders do. It is merely a temporary adjustment so that we can prove to certain Elders that we not.. an anarchical group set for revolution." She slightly giggles at this description.

"I trust Miss Caswell and I am happy for her to be here. I can understand if others feel that they do not wish to stay."

"Before anything else. I would like to ask that the following rules are observed whilst this meeting. No disciplines are to used on one another, no aggression and that everyone gives everyone else a fair hearing. I will not tolerate a repeat of the chaos that happened at the council under the previous administrator."

"Now would those with Auspex please help to ensure that we have not been joined by any unwelcome guests?"
