Tea for two

[Erika Leroux]

"Ah, it is a thank to you also. For being one such who has accepted me here, who has welcomed me." Erika looks around, to make sure that no one is watching, and then reaches out to embrace Eponine, in an almost motherly, and quite unseemly emotional hug. "I hope it brings you safe journey!"

[eponine]

She reciprocates the hug despite it taking her by surprise.

"It is you that accepted me, I have only been in Bath 18 months and you have always been friendly and approachable, to me at least, and no matter what position you hold within the court you will always have my support as a friend and ally."

She bites her lip, worried that she has been a little too presumptous...

Erika laughs softly.

"Then we have accepted each other! I try. I fear that most troubles are caused by not listening to each other, by putting walls of status between ourselves. They are there for a reason, indeed, but there are times when those walls can - and should - be broached." She glances briefly at her gift to Eponine. "And that, my dear, was a completely unintended pun! Though also a reminder that should you ever need, I am here for you."

She smiles and gently touches her new broach.

"I appreciate that Lady La Roux, thank you. I know we do not get to meet as often as I am sure we would both like, but I am very aware of the demands of office claims on your time."

[Erika Leroux]

Erika laughs a gentle sound.
"Heaven knows how true that is! Between office duties, theatre demands and keeping an eye open for my sweet Miss Date, I rarely know if I'm coming or going! We should make a note to meet more often - I believe having a little time to myself, meeting with friends, quite relaxing. Shall we arrange another on your return?"

A huge smile spreads across her face but she keeps her composure

"That sounds wonderful, it will be really nice talking about my voyage with someone who knows that he is more than just my Primogen advancing my education." She looks forlorn for a very brief moment. "I wish I could tell Miss Daye as we have become firm friends since my arrival to Bath, however I know she is a terrible gossip, which of course can have fabulous advantages but when trying to keep something 'juicy like this quiet has major disadvantages."
