Keane nods to Jean-Jacques and then to Aurelia.
"Thankyou, I will accept both, I hope what I have to say proves worth the cost."
He reclines in his chair and takes a moment to clear his thoughts.
"As many of you know I am quite old, and came first from the Brythonic Isles. I left shortly after the cup made its way into the hands of Mithras. What it does Elder Aurelia has already described. But what it is, is more of a story. Well a story of a story really."
He shakes his head and tries to stay on track.
"The Tuatha De Danann were the gods of our people at the time, brought from Ireland. The Dagda was one of these. The Great God in a more modern tongue. He was a powerful giver and taker of life. In one hand he held a shillelegh, a club, of enormous power. In the other he held a Coire, or Cauldron. It is said that no man would leave thirsty and that it was capable of granting fertility to the barren, life to the wasted and strength to the weak. It's ladle was so large that two men could fit astride it.... But this is all a little exaggeration. It is true that such an item existed and was brought from Ireland to early England by the cult of Dagda and that it was taken from them. It is also true that it was an item of great power, capable of the things I have described."
He pauses a moment and considers;
"it is also true that The Dagda, if he ever really existed, was likely the face taken by another. One that sought to hold the mantle of a god, worthy or otherwise. I imagine everyone here is familiar with someone creating such a thing for the adoration of the kine."
He regards around the room, a sense of contentment around him.
"I imagine some of you will have questions."
