Sheriff's manor - Culture Tour After-Party

For those Northern Haunts that either remain unspecified or too specific to fit into any other category. For example, if you wish to post a one-shot on your character's activities in their Haven but don't wish to advertise the fact of it's existence in a specific district.

Keane smiles some more at Aurelia's agreement.
"My thoughts exactly Elder"
Standing up is already becoming laborious and he looks at Aldritch and Aurelia comfortably ensconced together. He looks round to see Valentina still enraptured by the book he found her and, a little boldened by the inebriation, plonks down beside her. Continuing his thought;
"That and blind experimentation. If you have the time."

Jerome smiles at the little spirit and waves as Dukes settles her, he is always impressed by the sheriff's attention to the house and it's various eccentricities. It was an interesting conundrum he had not quite figured out since arriving, was Dukes rubbing off on the house or was it rubbing off on him... perhaps a little of both.

At the mention of footsteps Jerome turns quietly and extends his senses out seeking signs of anything that may wish to disturb the peaceful scene.

Jean-Jacques, composure now restored beyond the appearance of torn garments which he seems oblivious to, externally at least, coaxes Elder Hermina toward the nearest Chaise Longe, lowers her gently into a comfortable repose, and ensures that she has a full cup of the tea,

“Elder, zis carriage must go for ze repairs, ee shall return in ze due course.”

He smiles, winks and notions towards his trews and after a bow, turns and heads out towards where Dukes and Price are with the spirit.

“You know I am a Tremere AND a seerer! But my visions are often muddled, and it is very hard perceive the true future and the falsehoods.”

She allows herself to be arranged lying on to the chaise longe and beams at being given some more tea.

She winks at Jean-Jaques when he mentions he trousers. “Please come back very soon Prince Charming and thank you for the tea.” She sips the tea more slowly this time, savouring every little bit.

Jean-Jacques walks quietly to where Elders Dukes and Price are comforting the spirit.

He walks in, and stands aside, so as not to disrupt proceedings,

He nods at the two elders as they turn to face his arrival,

He smiles a genuine smile at the young girl.

“Who ees zees young ladee?”

Dukes hums a tune, poorly, by candlelight. After a few seconds he falters, turning to Jerome.
"Elder... You should do this."
He sighs, on edge, blinking at shadows.
"Jean-Jacques... how very timely."
Dukes gestures at the child.
"This little girl has been sneaking around the house looking for candles for warmth... thought I'd make the job easier for her tonight. She won't hurt you, she doesn't want to. She... doesn't want to hurt anyone. But she's having trouble sleeping. These small tasks... they're needed sometimes. You can't always cure a haunt but you can cohabit with it if you learn what they have lost. Quelling the extra voices seems like hard work, but it's easier than shutting them out or screaming over them. I can't always be present for the small moments like these... but the small moments matter they-"
He chokes.
"Either of you, sing her a song, or speak softly. A story or a lullaby. If you can speak her language try it. I... I would be very grateful if one of you could tend this voice tonight."
Dukes smiles at the spirit and turns, leaving the room. He pauses behind the neonate, gripping Jean-Jacques shirt and un-tucking it to conceal the hole in his trousers.
"Good heavens man your arse was showing." he says before exiting the room.

Jerome begins humming and moves to kneel by the spirit, reaching to one side and finding a candle he carefully places it to one side not lighting it but leaving it there for comfort. What to sing now, ah yes an old french lullaby should do, Dukes had mentioned that she seemed to speak something akin to French so she might recognise it. The tune modulates and changes from humming to a low murmur, he trys to gain her attention and reach out to her to lend her some sense of calm.

Jean-Jacques, pretending not to notice the casual rearrangement of his undergarments at the hands of Elder Dukes, casts a nod toward Elder Price and begins to softly sing, his voice not a natural yet his intonation is gentle enough to conceal his lack of tone to some Degree....

Frère Jacques
Frère Jacques
Dormez-vous?
Dormez-vous?

Sonnez les matines
Sonnez les matines
Ding, ding, dong
Ding, ding, dong

Dormez-vous?
Dormez-vous?

Sonnez les matines
Sonnez les matines
Ding, ding, dong
Ding, ding, dong
Ding, ding, dong
Ding, ding, dong

He smiles directly at the child, seemingly encouraging her to join him

"Ye-es, I find everyone becomes a visionary when stuffed with opium," Aurelia snorts. She lifts her empty cup to Hermina in salute.

The Elder pauses, and her nose wrinkles delicately. "Can anybody hear singing? Is that just me?"
