[Meredith Llewelyn]

Meredith sighs, "You are right, if an investigation is happening then I am sure we will all find out soon enough and there are bigger things going on in the world right now. Like what ribbon to buy."

Looking at both the blue and purple, Meredith decides to pay for both. "Perhaps we should turn to a lighter topic!"

Meredith has a think for a moment, "The war of Roses is over, that's got to be a good thing. And look there is a lime green ribbon!"

Meredith picks it up and shows it to Jean-Jacque, "Will this do?"

[Jean-Jacques]

Jean-Jacques listens to the voices concerns and opinion regarding the investigation and its purported public outcome with a polite interest..

At the suggestion of putting things back as before..


“I should be sure to want to see that, it would indeed be a spectacle to behold eh?”

As Meredith persued the ribbons and talks of the Rose war he turns to face her

“That seems a perfect choice of ribbon, I should procure a reel, is that the correct term, wouldn’t want the proprietor to think me an imbecile eh”

“Oh, and the rose war ending, yes jolly good I say, believe me war is a messy business, best ended all round, better to prepare for the next one”

“Perhaps to help our minds, consider this a question posed,”

He pauses, ensuring he has their attention.

“There was a ballot for the king and queen for the evening in reading, I know not the result, so let us provide our own choices, and suggest that between us we may elect, for our own whim, alternates for the roles”

[Meredith Llewelyn]

"Ooh now that is a good question, of course I am still trying to remember everyone's names and titles so I am sure there are many deserving of these titles than I can recall." Meredith places a gloved finger to her chin in pensive thought.

"What would you say constitutes a good King or Queen in this occasion? Are they gallant and brave. Romantic and handsome or sweet and gentle. Could it be what they have done for the Clan or perhaps how many kindred they have loved?"

She pauses, "After all, so many could fit into many a category. But those that come to mind for King Reginald Verity because he is the Primogen of Toreador and therefore deserves to be mentioned but also he is kind, a natural leader and also has a love story. I would also vote for Elder Price and Neonate Victor as both are romantic, protective and well..I know them. "

Walking down to the next stall which hosts lace fans, Meredith continues, "For Queen well I would say Ancilla Audley but she is chaste so cannot possibly fit. So how about Neonate Rhona as she was given some status and is now very alluring to all, lucky thing. Then how about Neonate Lenore, I always think that the Nosferatu are very beautiful for their unique appearances. They make me realise beauty is not really skin deep."

[Lady Grace]

Grace smiles at various points when Meredith runs through different names.
"The anonymous votes was a good plan, some couples might not care to be recognised in public; Lenore and June for instance, Andross and Kira or myself and Laurence. Others would be mere speculation Dukes and Rhona, Hermina and Monroe, Victor and...who did young Victor exchange necklaces with in the end? but it also leaves it open to be made a mockery of such as Jean Jacques here and say Vykos," Grace raises a eyebrow in Jacques direction. "
Not a good idea to mock those who would not find it amusing."
Politically it would be safest for it to be Prince Erika, sorry Eric and Miss Daye."

[Jean-Jacques]

Jean-Jacques returns from completing his purchase of ribbon and listens to the various options under discussion.

“What a fine array of kindred to you propose ladies, I should not doubt they would each wear the crown with a deserved pride”

“If the object would be to choose the most, how shall I put it, fecund of those attending as fitting of my votes, then I might pin my colours to Neonate Julien, or Elder Price or even Elder Hermina”

He smiles at the ladies

“However for me, as ever, this would hold but a fleeting memory, not dismilar to that experienced by those named in each of their...unions...no I should prefer a choice which match something altogether more appropriate for the occasion to my mind”

“Of the king, I would perceive them to hold to virtues of stability, strength and a defence of the realm, in whatever form that takes, to be the one looked to as an example of each of those traits, to have a sense of honour, yet a rage should those be threatened by another.”

“A king, perhaps would wear his love, on his sleeve so to speak, for all to bear witness”

He pauses,

“Of the Queen, I would perceive them to hold to quite different virtues, namely wisdom, vengeance, love, mystery and perhaps family”

“A queen would thus hold an emotional depth and appear on the surface a serene beauty yet, the seven hells would have no fury like a queen betrayed”

“Now, I shall ponder a short while on whom I would propose for such”

[Lady Grace]

Grace takes a long look at Jean Jacques thinking exactly how far he intended to push his luck this time, the description was flattering but....
"Obviously you refer to Elder Aurelia and Elder Dukes.
They would have made a excellent choice for King and Queen."

[Jean-Jacques]

Jean-Jacques looks quizzically at Grace for a moment then smiles

“Ah you mean Elder Dukes as the Queen and Elder Aurelia as the King?”

He pauses

“I suppose a fair proposal, given their natures”

[Meredith Llewelyn]

"I don't believe I have met Elder Aurelia but if she is as you have described the king then she must be someone of note. So I shall second that vote! If only we could have a real coronation service, we could get capes and fake crowns even ask them to give a speech! It would be so much fun!"

Meredith looks to Lady Grace, "Though I suppose Prince Eric wouldn't be too pleased with that and in many ways Miss Day and Prince Eric deserve the award. But if they didn't mind, then the fun can truly begin."

"If you were King of something Jean-Jacque what do you think it would be or you Lady Grace? You must excel in something after all."

[Jean-Jacques]

Jean-Jacques regards Meredith as she asks what he would be king of

“By any standards Meredith, I honestly don’t believe I would qualify, in my life as a mortal...the first one that is , I was for most of that existence a soldier to many, and successful in that regard, leading hundreds of men in battle their lives and success dependant upon, fortune, weather, the enemies action, camaraderie and discipline”

He sighs,

“Yet, that was not my passion, yes I enjoyed the life, the company, the horses, the uniforms, and the wine, but still yet I had a passion to debate the fabric of our world, the great philosophers and the not so reknown , as such I was worthy of no such accolade as would befit the throne”

He looks at each and shrugs slightly,

“In my life as a kindred, well, it has been a new education, I learn each night, and to some I likely forget the following might..”

He glances at Grace and winks at Angelina and Meredith

“I enjoy company of others, I am unworthy in any one regard, I am unremarkable really with nothing that would direct me to such”

He shrugs,

“I am merely one of the crowd eh”

[Lady Grace]

"Jacques you are anything but one of the Crowd."
"You must not do yourself such a disservice."

Trouble, Jacques that's what you excel at. Exuberant, ill advised, entertaining, expensive trouble.
But then what does that say about me?

"It's quite a difficult question to answer. When we are all used to ensuring that the Elders shine the brightest.

I am trying really hard not to say conflict. I believe in speaking out for those that have no voice or who aren't being heard so let me be queen of that."

And not a Queen of lost causes, a quiet voice inside adds.
