What if...?

OOC chat and discussion that doesn't easily fall into the below categories; Youtube and music recommendations, vampiric muse, website froth, cat pictures. Chat real life, chat characters, chat game, chat random. This board does not need to stay on topic of Vampire: The Masquerade. Feel free to stray from roleplay-related debates, just keep in mind sensitive topics should not be discussed (see Game Statement).

What if...?

Amused myself by thinking about little real life mysteries that - given the setting of the game and possible time jumps - the court could theoretically be involved in.

The one that came to mind was Agatha Christie's disappearance and lost period of time - maybe Vivian decides she wants to put on a mystery and needs a script writer...

Anyone have any others?

That's a great idea and an opportunity we shouldn't miss. Some players have already incorporated history in their current actions, and I've been looking at the wikipedia articles for 1880 and 1881 for this sort of thing to get involved in.

Sadly, the only idea that immediately springs to mind is the old and trite 'kill Hitler' time-travel saw, and the way that panned out in the real world timeline, it's nothing to be proud of:

Thanks for giving me something to ponder, though - Will report if inspiration strikes. Good luck abducting Christie, though; bonus points if you frame the butler.

Ambrose Bierce (of The Devil's Dictionary) doesn't vanish until around 1914, but it's been established that that was a completely separate set of vampires to blame (From Dusk 'til Dawn 3, I believe).
Neonate and Whip of clan Ventrue, Deputy Sheriff of the Court of Aquae Sulis.
Shane, out-of-character.
Apologies for aggravating phonetic spelling and bizarre fondness for semicolons.

Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd was an actual historical figure - found her on Wikipedia and she screamed 'Brujah', right down to the circumstances of her death!

She was also Queen Victoria's 20xgreat grandmother.

is a fascinating article using biblical figures as examples.

In 1804 world population was presumed 1 billion took 123 years to reach a presumed 2 billion

But we are projecting forward not back so if you were alive 20 generations back and wanted to know how much of the 1880 world were related to you...
So approximately 20 years per generation 8 children per generation average mortality rates saying only 30% of that goes on to have said 8 children again until the 19th century when it all crashes and 8 drops to 3.5 in 1900... so er... then suspect a maximum of 3 generations are still alive...

Can you tell I am bored yet?
Based on a lot of assumed figures approximately 900000 of the 1000000000 are potentially living descendents of our Welsh Elder.

That's most of the world's population in 1880. In actuality, there would be a lot of backbreeding/inbreeding (though the term is here used loosely), so that of each person in the 1880's 1,000,000,000 or so greatx20 grandmothers, a huge number (perhaps millions?) would be Lady Deheubarth. So she'd be your ancestor millions of times over on both sides of your family. Even more so if you were from Wales. Possibly not at all if you were from, say, Indonesia.

Now isn't that curious... :?
