~Set in October, 1882~

http://bath-camarilla.com/events/

It takes place at our normal venue of Conygre Hall in Timsbury.

It's spacious, has lots of parking on site and room for OOC belongings, a big stage - because every foppy Elysium needs a stage - and a fully-functioning kitchen. There's a Co-Op, McCalls and a chippie down the road, less than a couple minutes walk. Please ensure you eat!

Conygre Hall is located near Bristol and Bath. It took me 20 minutes to get there from the centre of Bath. Their website is http://www.conygre-hall-timsbury.co.uk/

This game costs £7.50 to play, to help cover venue hire and prop costs.

You can pay for the game through the website if you're worried about forgetting cash on the night.

If your kit/make-up takes time, arrive at or before 4pm. I'm hoping we'll have a How To Dance Honest session before time-in to help brush up on some group skillz. That combined with additional hall set-up means we may need that extra hour.

(Late arrivals are accepted, but if you're there after hard time-in your character is also fashionably late.) Please try to be early rather than late.

If you know anyone who might like being a vampire for the night at a more relaxed game please do put them in touch! Similarly, if you feel your character would not attend a foppy ball for whatever reason, I have potential snacky NPCs for grabs for this night. You can also play half the game and NPC the other half if you want variety. I need Primogens and Court positions filled. Message me on Facbeook (Savaria Black) or email (delia.drew@hotmail.co.uk).

There's a fully functioning OOC kitchen with microwave, kettle, cutlery etc if you want to bring your own food and drinks. We're allowed to consume alcohol, it's got full licence for alcoholic sales too. You can also go get food from the fish and chip shop or shop down the road.

There is an OOC wind-down in this hall if you'd like to stay on after time-out. Obviously, it's a late game, so if you'd rather go home and get some well-earned sleep, that's more than O-Kay! :D

As you all know, the game has been immensely successful in its first year, thanks to the fantastic quality of our players, and the efforts of our ST / AST team. This means we now have a solid group of regular players, and each session welcomes new players as well. While this is great and we are really excited to accept new people, the current downtime system has grown as a result and the levels of writing required has now become unmanageable.

The last two sessions generated 99 downtime actions, along with associated influence, retainer and contact actions, xp spends and additional stoof.

The ST team has taken the difficult decision to make some changes to the downtime system, to ensure we can keep giving you quality returns without burning ourselves out.

As such, from the February 2017 game onwards, each player will have two downtime actions instead of three.

We know that this isn't ideal for you, but we are keen to keep the focus on the sessions. Remember that feeding from herd is a free action, and that influence, retainer and contact actions can be separate from your two main actions.

Chronologically, the two actions will be split into 1st half of DT period / 2nd half of DT period.

We hope you will understand and support us with this change.

B & D

Pg 337 - "The Power of the Primogen: Removing the Prince.

The power of the Prince over her domain is absolute as long as she holds praxis of the domain. Should the Primogen Council stand united against their Prince, they have the ability to remove the Prince without bloodshed.

The local Primogen Council must, as a group, expend four Noble abiding status, the first three to symbolically strip all three positional abiding status from their Prince, and then the fourth to remove her praxis. This is a unique usage of the Noble status, and it can only be performed by Primogen of a domain upon the Prince of that same domain. Primogen who oppose the removal of the Prince can expend their Noble status to cancel one of their rival Primogen’s disloyal rebellion.

Should the Primogen Council be successful in this political maneuver, the former Prince loses her praxis, the related abiding status, and all of the rights of the position. The praxis remains unclaimed and vacant until another seizes it or the former Prince forces the Primogen to submit to her will via coercion or violence.

However, this tactic does not come without a price. Primogen who expended their Noble status to remove the Prince must reaffirm their position as Primogen amongst their clan before they can regain that abiding status."

Hope that helps everyone OC understand the Status plays that took place!

Cross posted from facebook

A few points on complex schemes in Downtimes.

There is no shame in asking the ST's detailed questions whilst planning your downtime. A PM to me and Delia will always get a response from one or both of us. Likewise, an email to us. We do not encourage questions via the forums.
We will never arbitrarily "piss on your parade" with regard to the downtime. If your actions fail (or explode in your face) it is because you've missed something. Probably something that another PC is aware of.

We have spent a long time building a fully dynamic world in which (quite deliberately) there are many moving parts, NPCs acting on their own wishes and agendas, and PC's only knowing small fractions of what's happening outside their immediate awareness. Some players have proven themselves better than others in finding things out, which is fantastic.

Vampire is a game of politics and intrigue. It's very likely that a fellow player has watched you walk into a screw-up with a grin on their face. It's also very likely that you've overlooked something IC which is important. These are all perfectly acceptable things to do. There is no Team in the Camarilla, and there is certainly no concept of a loyal party (unless you're Sabbat!)

However, if you fail because you have not understood or applied the rules correctly, we will make this clear in your return. If you talk to us in detail before you submit, we will always point it out when we see you misunderstanding something. If you don't talk to us, we can't help.

TL:DR - if it goes wrong, and there isn't a giant ST note about how you've read the rules wrong and asking why you didn't speak to us before hand, then chances are you've been screwed IC. Please don't complain to the ST's about this (unless it is just to generally cry on our shoulders / rant about how you will get your revenge which is fine <3 ) - instead, go out and kick ass IC in response!

If your Haven does not have the ‘Size’ attribute then it doesn’t matter how big the building is; you have never prepared to host an additional vampire. They will be subject to the following conditions:

Some suitable skill check will be needed (survival), or
Some suitable discipline must be brought to bear (Protean 3), or
Some expenditure of Resources can provide temporary shelter, or
A level-2 influence (Underworld or Elite) can be used to provide temporary shelter.

If none of these apply, then your sleep may be disturbed. Vampires do not recover willpower overnight.
You *may* find yourself awake and face-to-face with a mortal during the day

Additionally, the following applies regardless of skill checks:
If you are ‘crashing’ with another Vampire, the Beast takes umbrage at this. Assuming your host doesn’t simply diablerise you during your stay, all vampires resting in close proximity will wake with (at least) one beast trait automatically. This condition applies until the vampire has one decent proper day of rest.

When we return downtimes to players, we are provided exactly the amount of information available to that character at that specific time, using the parameters set by the player (Skills used etc.). We take into account any actions against that character, which may or may not become part of the downtime return, and your character (and you as a player) may or may not be aware of them.

Often, the amount of information you get will seem small, or not exactly what you expected to see. There are always reasons for this. Not all of those reasons will be apparent to the player.

Questions about rules, setting, your character, requests for clarification etc. etc. are all completely fine. However, what is happening is players asking for "top-ups" of information for your downtime.

An example could be an investigation - the player uses police influence and the investigate skill to look into a death. The downtime return provides details of the cause of death, and of any suspects the police already have.

The following session, that player discovers that another character has more information than they do, and in fact seems to have entirely different information.

At this point, players are coming back to us and saying "why wasn't I told this" or "could I also have found out X or Y".

The answer is always the same - read your downtime. You get what you get.

It's not that we don't know what we're giving you. We are juggling a plot spanning half a country, involving nearly 30 players and an entire game world.

It's completely exhausting and frustrating to be constantly questioned about the content of the downtime returns. We spend well over 6 weeks writing these. We give players exactly what we intend to give them.

You get what you're going to get.

Please have faith in us.

Greetings from the phys rep of the Master Harpy!

Status has a weird IC/OC boundry fudging mechanism and is something that is regularly mentioned/passed around in Society (according to fluff in the rulebook) and what Status a character has would known or be able to be found out with very little difficulty whether it is good status or bad (why they have that status is an entirely different kettle of fish).
This also applies to Status gained from merits/flaws that your PC may have (Prestigious Sire for example) so please let me know what the Status is that they have from these so they can also be noted and included. I don't need to know why you have it or what the merit/flaw is that you get it from, just that you do. Please don't take the piss and claim stuff your PC doesn't have. It'll make me and the STs sad.

The current IC delivery mechanism for this is the Harpy reports produced post game (to capture any changes at the last game) and pre-game (to capture any changes in the DT period before the next game) as every one would have them made available to them through some means within the domain.

I'd be really grateful if people could let me know asap as I'll be looking to put out a Harpy report on Friday as it seems that last time the Court gathered there was a lot of a Status changes...

P.S Thank you to the people who have already sent me stuff. Have a gold star ;)
